How Sahi Ghar handles your information

What we collect when you browse this site or ask us about a property, why we need it, who sees it, and how to have it corrected or deleted. Effective 24 October 2026.

The short version. We only collect what you give us when you enquire, plus basic analytics about how the site is used. We use it to help you buy, sell or rent property. We share your name and number with a developer or owner only when it is needed to arrange a visit or a deal for you. We do not sell your data. Write to support@sahighar.com to see, correct or delete what we hold.

Who we are

Sahi Ghar (sahighar.com) is a real estate broking business run by its proprietor, Sourav Singh, a real estate agent registered with the West Bengal Real Estate Regulatory Authority under registration number WBRERA/A/HOW/2025/000651 (Agent ID WBRERA/R-000840). We are based in Howrah, West Bengal 711227. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Sahi Ghar, and "you" means anyone who visits the site or contacts us.

We decide why and how your personal data is used, so under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for it.

What we collect

What you give us.

  • When you fill in an enquiry form on this site: your name, mobile number and what you are looking for.
  • When you call, WhatsApp or email us: your number or email address and anything you tell us in the conversation, such as budget, preferred locality, loan needs or the property you want to sell or let.
  • When you fill in a lead form on one of our Facebook or Instagram ads: the details you enter in that form, which Meta passes to us.
  • If we go on to help you with a purchase, sale or rental: details needed for that transaction, such as booking or agreement documents you choose to share with us.

What is collected automatically. When you browse the site, Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type and your approximate location, using cookies. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us through the website, bank details, card numbers, passwords or copies of government ID.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and send you the details, prices and floor plans you asked for.
  • To arrange site visits and register you with the developer or owner as our client for that property.
  • To help with the steps of a purchase, sale or rental you have asked us to help with, including loan and legal referrals if you request them.
  • To follow up about your search by call, WhatsApp or email. You can tell us to stop at any time.
  • To understand which pages and properties people find useful, so we can improve the site.
  • To keep the site secure and to stop spam and fraudulent form submissions.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including those under RERA and tax law.

We use your data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form or contact us, and for the specific purpose you contacted us about. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights" below). Withdrawing it does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

  • Developers, owners and landlords of a property you are interested in. We share your name and mobile number only when it is needed to book a visit, register you as our client or take a deal forward.
  • Home loan and legal professionals, only if you ask us to connect you with them.
  • Service providers who run the site and our email: Hostinger (web hosting and email) and the WordPress plugins installed on the site, which store form entries on our own server.
  • Google, for analytics, and Meta, if you reached us through a Facebook or Instagram lead form. They handle that data under their own privacy policies.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, and we do not share your number with other brokers.

Third-party content on the site

Some pages load content from other services, which can see your IP address when your browser requests it: Google Fonts for typefaces, and OpenStreetMap, CARTO and the Leaflet library (served from unpkg) for the "What's nearby" maps on project pages. Links to YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply once you are there.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart and measure how the site is used. WordPress may also set a small number of functional cookies that the site needs to work. We do not use cookies to show you ads on other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers an opt-out add-on for Google Analytics. The site will still work if you block them.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we are helping you with your property search, and afterwards only for as long as we reasonably need them to follow up, keep records of the deals we were part of, or meet legal and tax requirements. If you ask us to delete your data and there is no legal reason to keep it, we will delete it.

How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS. Form entries are stored on our hosted server behind a password-protected admin account, and only the proprietor has access to them. No method of storing data online is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
  • correct anything that is wrong or out of date, or complete it;
  • delete your data, unless we are required to keep it;
  • stop calling or messaging you, and withdraw your consent;
  • deal with a person you nominate if you are unable to deal with us yourself.

We will reply as quickly as we can and within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

This site is meant for adults buying, selling or renting property. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date below.
